Spencer and I, Sept. 2003

Spencer was best man at his friend's wedding.

I guess you could say that Spencer and I have 2 small hobby kennels.

Spencer competition hunts and breeds some of the finest Redbone Coonhounds

in the country. He bred the only 2 Dual Grand Nite Champion Redbones

with a full Grand Nite pedigree. All 6 of his females are either Nite or

Grand Nite Champions. ( this is not an easy accomplishment).

I purchased my first sheltie 45 years ago as a pet for myself

and first born son. Ever since then the breed has captivated my heart.

I have yet to find another breed that is more loving, loyal, intelligent, and

as affectionate as a Sheltie. I have been breeding/showing Shelties

for approximately 25 years. I started out with the AOC's but switched

to the sables after a 9 year self-imposed sabbatical, and

started from scratch again in 1995. You somehow

get addicted to the exhausting work, financial stress, breeding disasters

disappointments, and of course, hair everywhere. Why???

I'm afraid I can't answer that question except "just for the sheer

love of this wonderful breed."

Spencer and I have been married 46 years in June 2007. We live on

14 mostly wooded acres about 30 miles west of St. Louis, Mo.

So needless to say we don't have to worry about neighbor problems.

Spencer is now retired so we like to travel as much as we can. Thus,

I have been sending my dogs out with handlers more and more lately.

Besides I am not a good handler. To say the least I am a tad bit clumsy.

We enjoy traveling to his hunting events and also to the lake with

the grandkids. We have 13 grandkids and 4 great grandkids.

Our family has always come first so we

also do a lot of "home time" with the kids and grandkids.

We both constantly strive to breed dogs that are healthy and sound

in both mind and body while adhering to the standard. All of my

dogs are genetically tested and all pets are sold on a spay/neuter contract.

We are both Christians and are active in our church and enjoy Southern

Gospel music. I enjoy reading, making graphics on the computer. All graphics

on here were made by me. I have other various interests, and Spencer

likes to fish and just stay busy for the most part. But, neither of us

have a great deal of time to do much of anything except spend time with

dogs and grandchildren whom we love dearly. I hope you have enjoyed

learning a little bit about us and hope you continue to browse my web pages

to learn more about our dogs.
